What Great Treatments Will Often Help to Prevent Baldness in Blokes

September 25, 2008

The depressing part of loss of hair for guys is that there is no cure. Baldness has been a big issue for males all over the universe but there are brilliant things that can often stop further hair loss. If you need help with baldness visit a Hair Loss clinic today.

There is a topical treatment for hair loss called Minoxidil that can be taken in capsule or topical lotion form and should help people regrow their hair and prevent further loss of hair. The hair loss lotion comes in a variety of strengths with four percent being the most popular. The hair loss treatment is used under the guidance of a hair loss nurse and should be made aware that it is not a great miracle cure. However, the magnificent success of this loss of hair treatment is approximately sixty six percent. The hair loss treatment medication course is a minimum of 3 months before stunning results will often show and all girls are recommended to stay on the hair loss treatment for at least 6 months.

For chaps that do not get any hair regrowth with the hair loss treatment they can often try hair loss surgery. Hair loss surgery is a permanent solution and involves transplanting the skin on the head to minimise bald areas. Hair surgery can be high priced and involves a medical procedure so may not be for every lad.

All Brides are Beautiful

August 23, 2008

My theory is that there is no such thing as an ugly bride and this has held true for me over the past seven years and several hundred weddings. As a wedding officiant I see brides in all shapes, sizes, ages and ethnic origin. I see women who have irregular facial features, bad teeth, unruly hair, big noses, eyes too close together or too far apart - whatever you want to describe as less than beautiful. I have seen short brides and tall brides, brides who were too fat or too thin or who thought they were too fat or too thin. I have seen pregnant brides, old brides and very young brides. All were beautiful.

Many brides I have met have been very concerned about the way they will look going down the aisle and standing in front of everyone as the center of attention for those twenty to twenty five minutes of the ceremony. Some obsess about their looks. Many go on diets. In fact there are diet programs posted on wedding sites on the internet and in chapters in wedding books for women who want to lose mega pounds before their wedding. It’s like they believe they will be judged by everyone in attendance and pronounced “ugly.” Or if they don’t look like the model on the cover of a bride’s magazine, their groom and his entire family will get up and leave the wedding.

Whoa! Let’s take an honest look at this and try to put it into perspective.

Your groom fell in love with you just the way you are. In his eyes you are already beautiful and he most likely doesn’t want you to change. In fact he’s probably wondering what all the big fuss is about.
So what, if someone in the group of family or guests has a thought about an imperfection or two? Who really cares? It’s their problem if they’re judging you, not your problem. There is a wonderful saying that should be taken to heart, “What other people think of me is none of my business.” Sitting in judgment of you or anyone else is their business and not yours. Your mother may have been telling you to fix your hair a different way, to stand up straight, to lose a few pounds — that’s what mothers do. But she will be the one who thinks you are the most beautiful and will tell everyone she meets, and show pictures to prove it, how beautiful you were for your wedding.

Your wedding is a joyful celebration of the love between you and your groom. It is not a beauty contest.

The truth is that each bride has this wonderful glow that love gives her — a radiance and a dazzling beauty that make-up, hair dos, and dieting cannot provide. Absolutely, do what you want to do to be beautiful on your special day - go to the spa and the hairdresser. Get a manicure and a pedicure. Do all those things that women do to look their best. But know, with great confidence, that you will be beautiful and your man will never forget how you looked as you walked toward him to become his wife.

Walking to lose weight

August 22, 2008

Introduction:

Walking at a continuous pace not only boost your energy level, but also reduces your weight. Walking should be aimed at particular distance or duration covered to maintain the proper health and control weight.

Walking is one of the best exercises to control weight and to burn excess calories if good methods of walking are practiced.

Walking styles:

It is always necessary to maintain good walking style to get the maximum benefits of this exercise and at the same time minimizing any health risk. The following walking styles should be maintained for obtaining the benefits.

• Try to be as straight as possible including back while walking.

• Your arms should be swing in front and back straight at a maximum angle of 90 degree centigrade with the body.

• Take more steps per minute instead of taking longer steps.

• Walking should be maintained in a straight line as possible and try to keep your foot very close.

• Try to breath deeply.

• You should start walking slowly in initial days and should increase the speed and miles gradually as you proceed, keeping in mind your body’s response to these exercises.

Losing weight and fitness level:

Being overweight can cause a decreased level of fitness. Burning extra calories by walking will not only make you slim and trim but also increase your overall fitness level. A lack in exercise always tries the decrease in efficiency of muscle and energy levels.

Trainer’s advice for Walking:

Heart rate is one of the factors for burning calories and thus controls weight loss. Higher the heart rate, higher calories will be burn and thus walking will be more effective for you, but at the same time you should also consult to an expert trainer, physiotherapist or physician for maintaining a specific heart rate. Ageing may cause some reduction in efficiency and pump ability of heart and a 20 years young male can achieve a maximum heart rate of 200 beats per minute and the same person at the age of 40 may achieve a maximum heart rate of 180 only. Your trainer may advice you to attain not more than 60 % of the maximum heart rate, if you observe any difficulty you should consult to the trainer or the physician.

Program for Walking:

Make a simple program for walking.

• Start with a few minutes in initial days and gradually increase the duration.

• For achieving effective results of the walking you should continue walking for a minimum of 30 minutes daily or at least 5 to 6 days of a week.

• If your conditions allow you to walk briskly, walk as much as you can. In case you observe any symptoms of breathlessness, vomiting, dizziness or any unusual symptoms, you should contact to your doctor.

• Before walking do exercise for stretching of the body parts such as arms, head, shoulder, ankles, stomach, back etc, for a few minutes.

• If you get tired during walking, you should gradually slow down your speed.

• Too much of brisk walk can cause breathlessness in some of the people.

• You should adhere to your walking schedule daily and try to convert your walk in three time zones, first slow walking for 4-5 minutes, second brisk walking and third slow walking for 4-5 minutes.

• The first and third time zones are for warm up and clod down zones. Brisk walking should be gradually increased from 405 minutes in initial week to 25-30 minutes after 8-10 weeks.

How To Give Yourself And Family The Best Protection From Flu And Bird Flu

August 17, 2008

The flu has been an irritant for some time. However, at one time it actually caused worldwide devastation, killing millions of people. Although this type of effect has not been felt from the flu for many years, with the onset of bird flu this is becoming a very real possibility. With this being a concern, people should arm themselves to the full extent to avoid this from occurring.

There are several common-sense precautionary measures that can be taken to protect yourself and your family against being infected by this potentially deadly virus.

The first is to avoid places where the bird flu virus already runs rampant. As of now, the bird flu outbreak is primarily in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Although it is expected to spread worldwide, you should not save it the trouble by traveling where you can become infected more easily. If you must travel to these areas, avoid poultry farms or other high risk areas. On the same note, try to avoid contact with sick people. Simply distancing yourself and your family from the disease can be one of the most effective preventive measures taken.

If you come in contact with sick people, or even as a general rule of thumb, wash your hands often, with antibacterial soap, and practice good hygiene in general. The regular flu virus is spread by saliva and mucus being transmitted to others. If someone coughs in your face, this may not be able to be avoided; however, if you touch something that is contaminated, you will just as likely become ill - unless you wash the virus away before it makes its way into your body.

Another precaution you should take in preventing the infection of bird flu is to properly handle and cook all poultry. While the jury seems to be out on whether or not there are cases of the flu due to undercooked poultry, reliable sources are reporting there have been. Even a suspicion should be enough to encourage certain precautions, not to mention proper handling is just a good practice. Likewise, properly clean all surfaces that have come in contact with raw meat and wash hands after handling.

Should you or a family member become ill, you should seek medical advice. There are medications that can be administered that lessen the impact of many flu strains, but they are only effective if given early in the disease. For this reason, treatment must be sought immediately.

Using Christmas to Keep in Contact With Your Customers

The end of the year is fast approaching. I remember that years back I would take a couple weeks in December and just solidify my relationships with my buyers and sellers. I know that we are a little early right now but it is a good time to plan as some of the work can mount up during December if you are lucky.

Today, go through your list of clients and maybe clients and decide two things:

1. What is the value of this relationship today and tomorrow?

2. What is the best way to show that I care as a person and not as a salesperson?

Here is what I used to do. I would hand write Christmas cards to everyone on my maybe list of buyers and sellers with a little personal note, this could go out to 300 or 400 people or maybe only 50 you have to decide. You can write these Christmas or more probably holiday cards very quickly once you get a roll going. I just go to the local Wal Mart or somewhere where boxed cards are cheap and buy a bunch, fill them out with a short message personalized with their name on top and send them out. One bad mistake is to have the office pre print cards as it just screams of insincerity. On the same note be sure to stamp the envelope as your office may have a meter machine for postage and this will make your letter look more like a bill, no need to remind them of January early!

The next thing you can do is to find a supplier of low priced quality chocolates and get together with others in your office to order to drop the price point per box and then hand deliver these chocolates to each of your good clients. This will take more time as you want to do it close to Christmas and getting time in everyone’s schedule is difficult. When you do deliver these chocolates you will also drop of the holiday card as this will save you postage for a few people.

Calendars are the last thing on the list. Everyone gives out Calendars so you want to make sure that your calendar stands out. I have seen Realtors give out appointment books, as an alternative and I am not sure how well this can really work as no one else will see this. By all means give out calendars this year but if at all possible give out something that people will use at other times of the year. Go to a promotional supply store personally and see what you can find. Maybe you can get a fridge magnet with your picture and the schedule for one of the local sports teams that you can mail out in the spring or maybe you can get a magnetic month at a glance board that is just 8 and a half by 11 inches, I know my mom still has one of these on her fridge and it lasts forever. The best thing you can do with the idea of calendars is to be different because it is really hard to stand out when you are doing the same thing as every other Realtor in your area.

Never Get Married Because You’re In Love

August 13, 2008

I’ll repeat that. Never get married because you’re in love.

Sounds crazy?

It’s not.

Let me tell you why.

Ever been to a single’s bar? Mosey on over to the one nearest you and watch what happens. When a man approaches a woman in a singles’ bar - or a woman approaches a man - they each know exactly one thing about the other: how they look. She’s attracted to him, he’s attracted to her. And that physical chemistry forms the basis of whatever relationship may or may not develop. Now, they may think they’re in love. But in fact, they are simply infatuated with each other.

Here’s one to remember: Chemistry ignites the fire, but character keeps it burning. Chemistry - physical attraction - is not something to be ignored. But a deeply loving relationship based on mutual respect cannot stand on chemistry alone. That can only happen with someone whose character you can value and appreciate.

The best way (actually, the only way) to have a lasting relationship is to really look at the quality of the person you’re dating. That means being on the lookout for specific character traits, both positive and negative. The top four qualities to look for are humility, kindness, responsibility and happiness.

Humility. What is humility? Well, it is not being a doormat. Letting people walk all over you is not necessarily a sign of humility. It’s a sign of weakness.

Humble people are not weak. Humble people want to do the right thing rather than their thing, and that takes a lot of confidence and inner strength.

Someone who is humble will put values above convenience.

They can accept criticism without being defensive, because they’re committed to personal growth rather than to comfort.

A humble person will not get angry easily, because they don’t feel that anybody owes them anything. That’s the reason they also tend not to be materialistic.

Now, you may think that the above description applies only to angels. And it would be a mistake to narrow your search down to someone who has mastered all of the above qualities that go along with humility. Nobody’s perfect. But you should look for someone who values humility and is striving to achieve it. At the very least, ask yourself if the person you’re dating is arrogant. You definitely do not want to marry an arrogant person who feels that people owe him or her the world.

Kindness. Kindness is more than just being a nice person. If you ask most engaged couples if their intended spouse is kind, they’ll probably say yes. But the divorce rate is over 50%. If everybody is so kind, then why is the divorce rate so high? Because although people think that they’re kind, they really lack a depth of kindness.

So, what’s kindness? Being a kind person means being a giver, someone who’s committed to giving pleasure and minimizing other people’s pain. If two people like this get married, they are much less likely to suffer serious problems in their relationship. That’s because each one is dedicated to the other’s well-being.

How do you know if someone is truly a kind person? Look at how they treat the other people in their lives. How do they treat their parents, siblings and grandparents? Do they feel a sense of gratitude to their parents? If not, what makes you think they’ll feel any sort of gratitude towards you after you’re married?

Watch how they treat the “little people” towards whom they have no obligations - waiters, busboys, doormen, secretaries. How do they treat their employees? What’s their business reputation like? Are they ruthless?

Does the person you’re dating do volunteer work? If not, do they give charity? If the answer to both questions is no, that isn’t a good sign.

Do they drive courteously? What happens when they drink, when they lose control a little bit? How do they act?

Take note of the answers to these questions. Write them down so that you’ll have a whole picture in front of you when you need to make a decision about whether or not to continue a relationship.

Responsibility. First thing, ask yourself: Is this person irresponsible? If the answer is yes, be careful. You do not want to marry an irresponsible person. If your first, off the cuff answer is no, then check them out.

Do they have a stable work history? Do they have stable friendships? Do they have long-term friendships, or do they need to move around a lot?

Ask yourself: Can you rely on this person? Do you feel safe and secure with them? Another good question is to ask yourself is if you can trust what the other person says. Do they stand behind what they say? Do they live up to their commitments?

Happiness. You might be stumped on that one. Since when is happiness a character trait?

That all depends on how you define happiness. A happy person is someone who is basically content, who focuses on what they have, not on what they don’t have.

Life has no guarantees. Anyone can be dealt a hard blow. But a person who is internally happy will be able to get past life’s obstacles, whereas someone who is constantly focused on the negative will have a much harder time. And you want to be married to someone who can smile at life.

So remember: Never get married just because you’re in love - focus on character, not on chemistry. Look for a quality person to share your life with, someone humble, kind, responsible and happy.

You deserve no less!

Representation: Pros and Cons

August 12, 2008

As an editor, I’ve heard it said so many times. “Can you help me get an agent?” my clients ask, breathlessly, as if an agent is the only thing standing between them and life itself.

Agents are certainly very helpful, if you are trying to publish a book. And maybe it’s the influence of the movies or other media. But agents are not there to give you a leg up, help you flesh out a half-finished book proposal, or even assist in the development of your career.

This may sound overly dire, or as if agents are just mean people who like to have free lunches every day. Some of them may be. Most agents, however, legitimately love books. They want to see new authors succeed. But they are often bound by the perceived needs of the market, the personal tastes of editors, and the increasing influence of the Internet on how business is being done.

Some people choose to go agentless, and this is a valid path for many aspiring writers. Steve Almond, author of Heavy Metal and Candyfreak, only recently obtained an agent for himself, after several very productive years doing without. It does not seem to have hurt his career in the least.

If you’re a new author, and want to research the world of agents, my first piece of advice is to take your time. Too many authors are in such a hurry to fire off their queries and manuscripts that they never realize they’re sending the wrong kind of material to the wrong agent. An absolutely indispensable bible is Jeff Hermans Guide to Book Publishers, Editors and Literary Agents, 2006. He breaks it down for you: who these people are, what they’re looking for, and what steps to take to win them over to your project. To be without it is just foolish.

After you’ve determined which agents are the best to target, you’ll need some help in writing a killer query letter, the kind they won’t be able to put down. Write Express has the answer in Easy Letters, a very affordable software program that helps you express yourself professionally, with style. With over 2,200 form letters arranged into 500 topics, you’re sure to get great use out of this program, again and again.

Once you have your target list of agents and your killer query letter, Stamps.com can help you get it out into the world. Aspiring writers almost always underestimate the amount of time they will spend in the post office, and the amount of money they will spend on postage (manuscripts are heavy!). Stamps.com has got one of the greatest deals going. If you join using the link below, they give you a postage scale and postage, so you can have the right amount already affixed to your packages. That saves time you could be spending on your next book!

Lastly, you’ll need to keep yourself in freelance work while you’re waiting for your Big Break. The Freelance Work Exchange is one of the best places to get fresh, new leads on freelance work on the Internet. Upgrading your membership comes with tons of benefits. The first month is only $2.95, and you get a free copy of Million Dollar Freelancing, an ebook that lays out all the highest-paying freelance strategies to quit that boring old day jobs of yours. So get started now, and good luck with your agent search!

Warts - Learn How to Prevent Them

August 10, 2008

Right now it is said that a huge percentage of the human population is carrying the virus that causes warts of all types. The virus is called HPV and there are many different types of it and all of them cause different types of warts ranging from the common warts that you get on your hands and feet to the more unwelcome of the bunch, venereal warts. Not all warts hurt at all or are dangerous but they all have something in common and that is that they are embarrassing for the person that has them.

I mentioned that a huge percentage of the population has the virus that will cause them but not everyone get them. Only a portion of the population that has the virus will display signs of the warts it causes. There is no way to tell if you will ever get warts or not but the key is to know what to do if you do get them and ways to prevent yourself from getting different types of the virus and spreading it to other people.

The HPV spreads from person to person very quickly and warts spread fast to other people and other body parts easily too, by way of skin to skin contact. The best way to stop the spread of warts is to avoid touching anyone else’s warts or let them touch yours. This sounds easy since nobody wants to touch them but the thing is that a handshake can cause contact with warts since common warts tend to occur on the hands and fingers. Also if you have one and touch it then touch another part of your body you can develop warts on teat part too. The best thing to do is have a doctor help you identify the warts you have and treat them as well.

Network Marketing Success Is Not a Nickle and Dime Thing

August 6, 2008

Network Marketing Success Is Not a Nickle and Dime Thing by Amy Hutton

After thirty two years in network marketing (mlm) it still amazes me. People, even long timers, think that they can make a full time income (or get rich) by buying a $35 starter kit and buying $50-100 in product every month, then recruit three people who will recruit three people.

It’s not like that.

Those people who are a real success will tell you that it takes a MAJOR amount of full time effort to succeed in mlm. It takes hours and hours of phone calls for recruiting every day. It takes holding conference calls, loading and sending emails into an autoresponder, work, work, work. It takes monthly product purchases over a year or more. You work for a year or more and maybe you are making $500 a month.

Success in network marketing is won by one of two methods:

First you can work your behind off 20 hours a day, recruit a hundred people or more (of whom only 1/3 will stay involved,) put $1500 or more in total product monthly purchases and phone bills and make $500-$1000 a month….OR

Second: You can decide to take the $1500 at the start and join a business that requires a $1000 purchase or more to start earning money. I’m not talking about front-end loading here. Far from it. There are at least three network marketing companies I know of where you can plunk down your $1000-$5000 startup costs all at once, never make another payment out of pocket, recruit a few people, not a hundred, and start earning massive amounts of money from the start.

These are real, stable, legal, (and not well known) network marketing companies that have been around for two or more years. One company has already paid it’s members $55 million in the first 7 months of 2005.

These companies have no monthly product purchase requirement. After your initial purchase, there will be nothing coming out of you pocket. And you don’t need to recruit a hundred people, either. My sponsor in my current program sponsored just 11 people and made $135,000 in her first four months. (Ok disclaimer here: you may or may not make that kind of money-you know the drill)

Change your mindset. Put up a good chunk of money at the start, never pay another cent, recruit a few people and make an incredible amount of money fast…And still have time for a LIFE.

…or work like a dog for a year or two and see if maybe you might make a couple hundred dollars a month if you can keep recruiting to replace the ones who drop out.

Network marketing has changed. A few companies know the truth and have designed programs around it. And a few networkers have caught on. Why not you?

Halitosis Bacteria

August 4, 2008

Halitosis means bad breath. It’s a common problem that is usually caused by halitosis bacteria - a group of bacteria that live in the mouth, getting nutrients from various protein sources found there. These proteins come from dead cells (cells that line the inside of the mouth that are shed and replaced on an ongoing basis), blood cells, food particles, other microorganisms, and other proteins normally found in saliva. Unfortunately, some of the bacteria that live in the human mouth create bad smelling sulfur compounds when they break down protein - compounds that we refer to as volatile sulfur compounds (VSC).

In instances where it’s caused by bacteria halitosis is literally the odor of VSC. Think of the smell of rotten eggs, or the sulfur whiff you get when you strike a match. These are sulfur compounds as well, although they are not necessarily caused by halitosis bacteria in these situations. People pretty much universally dislike the smell of sulfur, so to have it on your breath is a social problem.

Most of the halitosis bacteria live on the tongue, although they may also multiply between the teeth or in creases and pockets formed in the gums, especially in an unhealthy mouth. Poor oral hygiene and untreated gum disease are associated with foul mouth odor and bacteria halitosis. Bad breath is not always the result of lack of self-care however: healthy people who take good care of their teeth can have bad breath if they have lots of VSC producing bacteria living in their mouths.

In a simple uncomplicated case of bacteria halitosis, the key to getting rid of the odor is to get rid of the bacteria. Ideally, a bad breath remedy would selectively reduce the bacteria which produce VSC while allowing friendly non-VSC producing bacteria to move in and replace them. It’s important to have a healthy population of bacteria in the mouth because they actually keep our mouths clean and healthy for us. We can do without the halitosis bacteria, however.

Some over the counter remedies for bad breath aim to kill off VSC producing bacteria. Mouthwashes that contain chlorhexidine and other antibacterial chemicals fall into this group. Natural remedies that claim to selectively wipe out halitosis bacteria are also popular. None of theses products provides a permanent cure for bad breath, however. When you stop using the product, the bacteria return, and so does bacteria halitosis.

R. Drysdale is a freelance writer with more than 25 years experience as a health care professional. She is a contributing editor to Halitosis Bacteria, a blog dedicated to the treatment of bad breath.
