Anne Klein - the Past and the Future Extraordinaire!

May 3, 2008

Fashion designer Anne Klein was born Hannah Golofski in New York City. She started as a sketcher on Seventh Avenue in 1938. In 1948 she launched Junior Sophisticates and in 1968 Anne Klein & Co was born.

Anne Klein was a fashion pioneer well known for understanding what women wanted. She was known for creating chic, sophisticated, wearable comfortable clothes that women would wear. She designed sophisticated sportswear for young women. She knew each woman’s wardrobe needed a blazer, trousers, and separates.

Her designs were very popular within the USA. Her clothes were synonymous with American style and were relevant to the lives of the women she designed for.

The sportswear of today has its basis in Anne Klein, who defined what what women’s sportswear should be. In 1968 Anne Klein launched Anne Klein & Co. The company goal was to design and market sportwear separates that could be mixed and matched. She became an industry leader overnight.

Anne Klein & Co continued to grow and received numerous honors and award. Just at the height of her success Anne Klein died in early 1974 from breast cancer.

After years of financial difficulties and ownership changes Klein’s vision has once again become the label’s guiding light. The company was recently taken over by Jones Apprale Group with Mark Mendelson taking over as president.

Mark recently stated “The purpose of Anne Klein New York collection is to make fabulous clothes.” The company says the changes are going to be gradual and subtle. The Anne Klein collection is now being designed by Michael Smaldone.

The Absurd Bhagavad-Gita

Bhagavad Gita, the holy book of Hinduism, is absurd as it is
full of great many flaws. Some of them are stated and described
below.

1. The baseless / unreasonable conception of self- Ref to Ch 13
Text 33: There is considered to be Soul which feels something.
However, there does not need to be a separate entity that feels.
Feeling of pain, for example, is itself sufficient for its
existence. When I think I am feeling pain, this thinking itself
is actually realised in the form of some feeling.

2. The absurd conception of rebirth- Ref to Ch 15 Text 8 & Text
9: A man, for example, may turn into a pig in the next
birth/life because of his pig-like activities. However, a man
and a pig are two very separate entities. Whatever that a pig
enjoys or suffers can in no sense be connected to a man. In
other words, it is absurd to think that a man suffers in the
next birth because he has become a pig. There is absolutely no
man in a pig to think that how bad that I became a pig in this
life. The criticism of the conception of self discussed in point
1 strengthens this argument.

3. The conception of Brahman and Duality- If the world of
appearance or duality is caused by Brahman, which is supposed to
be a singular entity, there is an absurdity. If at point x
duality arose from Brahman then before x there has to be duality
as a singular entity cannot create multiplicity. There have to
be at least two conceptually and physically distinct entities to
produce something else.

4. Why God created duality if it is inferior, pointless, and
moreover sinful ?

5. Satanic God ? There is evil in the world. (Ref to Ch 4 Text
7) If God did not cause it He is not almighty and if He caused
it why ? Is it a game played by Him for His own entertainment?
Then God is Satanic.

6. Ref to Ch 15 Text 8 & 9; Also Ref to the pictures in the book
Bhagavad Gita as it is by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada:
A woman acting like a tree and a man acting like a tiger in this
life get the lives of a tree and a tiger respectively in their
next lives. Now, the world is getting more and more hedonistic
and materialistic which implies that there should be more and
more trees and tigers in the world which rather contradicts the
facts.

Are Those In Search Of The Success Enjoyed By Search Engines

Are you misled by the success of search engines?

Most webmasters seem to be.

Of course, several of the most-visited sites on the Internet are
indeed search engines or directories.

“And what do engines and directories have? A zillion
unrelated links to everything. Therefore, I’ll do
something like that.”

Whoa!

People don’t go to engines or directories to find a lot of
links. Most often, a visit is to find the answer to one, single
question.

Yet most of the websites I see are crammed with as much stuff as
possible. A second problem is that much of it is unrelated.

I have half-a-dozen websites, including some that are among the
most popular on the web. Not top 10%; not top 1%; but top 0.1%!
I don’t say that to brag (well, at least I hope not); I say that
to to emphasize that part of their success is because each deals
with one, single, narrowly defined topic.

Even two subjects is too many:

I’ll pretend I understand why you want to promote, describe, and
extoll the virtues of a particular long-distance telephone
service. And I certainly understand the need for a webpage on
the medieval history of Luxembourg. (Really.) But why are they
on the same webpage? Why are they even in the same site?

“Well, my webpage on the medieval history of Luxembourg
doesn’t make me any money.”

You don’t know that! You don’t know that because you don’t have
a webpage on the medieval history of Luxembourg. You have a
webpage ‘about’ long-distance-telephone-service-and-medieval-
Luxembourg.

Who exactly do you think wants to know about long-distance-
telephone-service-and-medieval-Luxembourg?

I’m pretty sure that medieval Luxembourg did not even *have*
telephone service.

A person usually visits a search engine to find the answer to
one question.

People usually look for only one thing at a time.

They visit for one reason.

One thing.

Uno.

One.

1.

Learn from THAT, I suggest, if you’re trying to emulate the
success of search engines.

Replacing Ford Headlights

How horrible would it be one day to wake up and realize you don’t have any headlights? I think it would be pretty bad, it would not be safe to even drive your car if your headlights are broken or don’t work.

Your lights are one of the parts that will last you a long while. But since they are on the exterior they are exposed to elements that can be damaging. They can loose their original luster. You can give your Ford vehicle a new fresh look by changing the grille, mirror, taillights, Ford hood and spoiler.

It is really simple and easy to replace Ford parts, especially the lights. The reason for that is Fords popularity. A good place to look for the parts is Ford Parts Online; they are one of the most trusted auto parts dealers on the internet. So check them out if you need to replace any parts on your Ford vehicle.

But let’s go back to your Ford lights. It’s quite easy to change them yourself, just follow my directions and you’ll be on the road again.

First remove the exposed plastic or metal trim around the housing to get the headlight ring and screws. Using the right tools remove the four ring screws. Be careful, because it is pretty easy to strip them. Put some penetrating oil on each one for a few minutes. Also be sure not to turn the headlight-aiming screws.

Once you remove the retaining ring the headlight will be free. Just unplug the wiring connector that is in the back of the headlamp.

Then plug back the connector into the back of new headlight then place it in the mounting base. The headlight will position itself due to lugs in the back, but if it doesn’t then that means you have it upside down.

Turn on the new headlight to see if it is working. If it doesn’t come on it probably means there is a problem with the wiring.

You next step would be to replace the retaining ring. But again, be careful about the screws. The last thing would be to replace the trim elements that you had to remove.

Are You In The Market For a Car Loan?

Car loans are a tempting way to purchase a new car. While they provide for easy access to a car, these loans can get quite expensive if you do not know enough about what you are getting into. Simple research will provide you with information that can save you some real expenses. Even if you are getting a used car loan or a car title loan, you need to understand what you are getting into.

Most of the time, when a buyer enters a car dealership, they already have an understanding of what they are looking for in a car and how much they can spend. But, how much research was given to the loan you may be picking up in the process? Choosing this wisely, is key to getting a good deal on a car. To find information, consider looking at different lenders and different dealerships. You do not have to get the loan through the dealership. You may be able to get one, at a lower cost, through your own bank especially if you have developed a good relationship with them.

Being aware of how much the interest rate is like being away of the gas mileage on that new car. You need to ask questions and be prepared with answers. For instance, you may be looking to purchase a used car and therefore would be looking into a used car loan. The car you choose and want to purchase will cost you 5000 paid over the next 5 years. But, what happens 3 years into the picture? The car isn’t worth the amount you still owe on it because the interest rate was so high or you didn’t make a down payment.

Consider the situation there. You have a loan and a run down car that may or may not have been worth it. Add into this a bad credit used car loan, with even higher interest rates and fees, and you are really hurting.

The car loan you choose should be one that reflects your credit, the car, and your understanding of the loan. Perhaps you can pay an additional amount of money a month, and cut the interest rate down over the course of the loan. Researching your options, good or bad credit, will give you more of an understanding of what’s available. Simply check online (or search online) for lenders that can offer you quotes for the type of loan you are looking for. Undoubtedly, you will find many options. You will have companies competing for your business now. Choose wisely, and based on your research.
